Children's Ministry
Here at Primera Iglesia Bautista we love children! Children are the future of the church. They matter. Children are often misunderstood but if you just stop to listen to them, they make a lot of sense! They always have a story to tell and they always have hug to give. Pastor Higgs' wife, Jeannine is the Director of Children's Ministry. Teaching children about God is her passion. Jeannine has been teaching children since spring of 2014. Since that time, several children have come to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Jeannine's daughter Emily has also been teaching children since 2014 and Emily's fiancee Justin helps out in the classrooms, kitchen and playground with the children. We have children's church on Wednesday evenings from 5-8 pm. The children receive a meal, lesson, coloring/activity time and play time. During Christmas and Easter season, they perform a program at the church with scripture reading, poems, stories and songs. Everyone in the community is invited to come watch.
Marriage Preparation
Pastor Higgs is ordained to perform wedding ceremonies. He has performed several ceremonies in his short time of being ordained, including a double wedding on the beach! He offers couple counseling, as well as one on one counseling to the bride and groom. If you feel this is something you would be interested in or you are in immediate need of a wedding officiator, please contact Pastor Higgs.
Women's Bible Study
Once monthly Women's Bible Study hosted by Girls 4 God. This is for the ladies only. We ask that you please don't bring any husbands, boyfriends or children. This is just for us girls to join together. We start at 6 pm with a meal and then have a bible study, singing, prayer and fellowship. Each month we ask one of our members to bring the meal and lesson. If you had rather not do that, don't worry!... We won't force you! We will be announcing the date of the next study at the beginning of each month. This month it will be held on Tuesday, May 30th.
Pastoral Support
Pastor Higgs is usually in the office Weekdays from 6-7 pm. No need to make an appointment. If you need prayer, spiritual counseling, advice or just someone to talk to, your conversations with the pastor are confidential.
